It is a sad statement of the way things are today. That people will help themselves to your stuff, but much of this can be prevented by doing 3 easy things.
1. Never leave valuables in your car at night, especially in plain sight. Cell phones, i-pods, i-pads, e-readers, and laptops should be removed.
2. If you must leave valuables in the vehicle, such as tools, lock them in the trunk or hide them under the seat.
3. Always lock your car and make sure the windows are rolled up.
You could always lock your pit bull in the car at night but I once saw a 911 Porsche that had the interior destroyed by the owner's dog. I guess the dog didn't enjoy sleeping on the cold leather seats.
Be careful out there!
